Review: The Two Pearls of Wisdom

The Two Pearls of WisdomThe Two Pearls of Wisdom by Alison Goodman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an incredible book. If you like your fantasy with an eastern flavour and plenty of sword-play, then this is for you.

Candidate Eon is training to become a Dragoneye – a chance to become powerful, and master water and wind to protect the land – very tempting for a poor, crippled boy taken from the salt-mines. But Eon holds a secret – a dangerous secret that could make or break his chance to change his life forever.

Gripping and wonderful, The Two Pearls of Wisdom/ Eon is a ripping read from beginning to end, and is followed magnificently by Eona.

Review: Eona

EonaEona by Alison Goodman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Make sure you read Eon/ The Two Pearls of Wisdom first!

The continuing story of Ancient China, set in a world of Dragons, Dragoneyes and Royalty, ‘Eona’ is the second and last in the Eon series. Compellingly written, Goodman creates a wonderful world, full of spirit and spirits – and explores the fine line between power and right, between desire and pain, between love and lust.
