Edsel has returned to Verdada, on a mission to release Jacq from her coma. But his arrival in Verdada creates ripples within puddles, within seas, within oceans. All is not as it seems in the idyllic world of Verdada.
James Roy has created a complex world in Verdada. Not only are the concepts amazing, but the plotting and characterisation is also of a higher order, requiring close attention to the small details of the story. As a result, this is not a quick read, but a reader that take time to let the ideas settle and fester will be rewarded.
Although Edsel completes one part of his mission in this novel, the ending leaves the way wide open for the next (final) instalment of Edsel’s grand adventure.
What would his parents say if they knew!
